Telangana CM reviews Musi Riverfront project; Directs rehabilitation, public outreach measures

Hyderabad, June 27 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to expedite the first phase of the Musi Riverfront project while ensuring proper rehabilitation of affected families.
Chairing a review meeting at the MCR HRD Bodhi Pavilion here Friday evening, the Chief Minister along with Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinibvasa Reddy, reviewed various components of the ambitious riverfront development project.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to allot double-bedroom houses to families residing within the Musi riverbed as part of the rehabilitation and resettlement programme.
He also instructed that landowners willing to part with their land for the project should be provided either Transferable Development Rights (TDR) or appropriate monetary compensation in accordance with government policy.
The Chief Minister directed officials to relocate structures situated on Defence land proposed to be acquired for the Gandhi Sarovar Project.
To create public awareness about the riverfront development initiative, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to establish a Musi Experience Centre on Necklace Road.
The proposed centre will showcase various components and development works planned under the Musi Riverfront Project and also serve as a platform for collecting suggestions and feedback from the public.
The Chief Minister directed officials to take necessary steps for the timely implementation of the project while ensuring transparency and public participation.
The meeting was attended by Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Musi Riverfront Development Corporation Limited (MRDCL) Managing Director Narsimha Reddy, Joint Managing Director Gauthami, HMDA Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed, CMO Secretary Manik Raj and senior officials of the Municipal Administration Department.
